Film Story

This is a parody of the classic 1973 blaxploitation film, “The Mack” with an interesting female twist. The short film covers the iconic scene in “The Mack” where the number one money maker China D, chooses one pimp Goldie, over another pimp Pretty Tony. Paying tribute to the classic lines starting at 2:53 I choose you, and at 3:15, you aren’t no pimp, you a rest haven for hoes. The goal was to infuse a bit of comedic flare into the traditional male dominated pimp genre. As such, this short film features a majority female ensemble that involves a role reversal where the women in the film have taken on the persona of Goldie and Pretty Tony and become the pimps. The film employs a gender role reversal on traditional notions of male dominance utilizing mostly the original dialogue, and is executed with excellent comedic effect. The on-screen chemistry between the actresses is obvious and there are numerous stand-out performances and several laugh-out-loud moments.
